The Los Angeles Lakers gave themselves a shot, but couldn’t get the job done against the Orlando Magic.
After jumping out to a strong start, the Lakers quickly wilted, to the point where LeBron James and co. trailed 86-71 entering the final period.
A big run tied the game up with less than two minutes to play, but it was the Magic who converted down the stretch; Steve Clifford’s team walking away with the 108-104 win.
Nikola Vucevic had an impressive outing for the now 10-10 Magic, finishing with 31 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and three blocks, while Aaron Gordon chipped in with 17 points of his own.
The Lakers got 24 points and seven assists out of James, while Kyle Kuzma posted 21 points, with Luke Walton’s team moving to 11-8 on the season.
