A technical glitch affecting Barclays online banking and telephone has meant some workers around the country have been unable to receive their wages.
The problems, which started this morning, were affecting the Barclays website and telephone banking, although the bank said its mobile phone app was working as normal.
Customers say they cannot get the Barclay’s homepage to load meaning there is no access to their online account portal.
One user on Twitter asked whether Barlcays could be heading for a similar disaster to TSB where millions of customers were left locked out of their accounts thanks to a botched IT backup in in April, leaving them vulnerable to fraudsters.
While another, who is unable to access their wages, said Barclays was creating an unhappy workforce due to the technical glitch.

One said: ‘I’ve been trying to log in for over an hour in order to sort people’s wages out for tomorrow… incredibly frustrating, especially since there’s no news forthcoming… will be left with several unhappy workers to deal with’

Barclays, which has some 24million customers, has yet to give specific details on what caused the issue or when the service will resume normally.
Hitting out on Twitter ,one customer wrote: ‘Having issues accessing my account online and looking at pending transactions on mobile app. Any news what’s going on here and how long will it take to be back?’
More customers slammed Barclays online: ‘Sort your online banking out – I can’t log in as the server seems down,’ one Twitter user said
Another said: : ‘What’s the problem with your online banking? I’ve been trying to log in for over an hour in order to sort people#s wages out for tomorrow’.
A Barclays spokesperson said: ‘We’re currently experiencing some technical problems – customers are still able to use Barclays Mobile Banking app to check their balance, make and receive payments .
We’re on it, and as soon as it’s fixed we’ll let you know.’
